May, June and July offer stable fishing weather and lovely midnight sun. This means long, bright days and almost infinite time for fishing. In addition to chasing a big cod, summer can offer an intense combat with a big coalfish, a face-to-face meeting with a nice sharp-toothed wolffish, or the hunt for a huge halibut. Moreover, it is allowed to fish redfish during the summer months.
On Sørøya, the autumn heralds the arrival of the anglers' dream - the mighty halibut season. Starting from August enthusiasts flock to the pristine waters, armed with their fishing rods, ready to battle with a monster halibut that call these depths home. As September rolls in, the excitement reaches its peak, and for sure, there will be screaming reels and bent rods. This month marks the prime window when these colossal creatures are most active and eager to take the bait. But don't fret if you miss the peak: the halibut season continues until the end of October. The only backside may be the weather that gets rougher and the days that become shorter.
We say it is always fishing season on Sørøya. Whenever you come, you will have a good chance of catching a big fish!
